Jerry
Chang, Chairman and CEO: Jerry Chang, a co-founder of OPTi has served as Chief
Executive Officer of the Company since February 1995. Mr. Chang served as vice president
of finance and operations, vice president of ASIC technology, and CFO of the company from
1989 until 1993. Chang was first elected as company director in March 1990. In February
1993, he was elected president of the company. Before co-founding OPTi, Chang was employed
by Chips & Technologies from 1987 to 1989, where he was design manager; and from 1984
to 1986, he was senior engineer at Zilog.David
Zacarias, Chief Financial Officer: Dave Zacarias served as CFO of the company since
February 1993, as Secretary since May 1994, and as Chief Operating Officer since July
1995. Before joining OPTi, he had been vice president of Finance and CFO of computer maker
Everex Systems from 1991 to 1992. From 1989 to 1991, Zacarias was vice president of
finance and CFO at Unix software specialist, The Santa Cruz Operation. Previously, he was
affiliated with Altos Computer Systems (now a part of Acer), as COO and CFO.
Jun-Wei Chen Ph.D., Vice President Foundry & Technology Services: Jun-Wei joined OPTi in January 1996. As vice president of Foundry & Technology Services, Dr. Chen will manage engineering design, production, packaging, CAD, and the joint foundry partnership between OPTi and United Microelectronics Corporation. Prior to OPTi, Dr. Chen held senior engineering management positions at Hewlett-Packard Labs, National Semiconductor, and Fairchild. As a member of the technical staff at Fairchild Research Center at National Semiconductor, Dr. Chen was responsible for CMOS device characterization and process integration. George C. Fang, Vice President of the Asia Pacific Sales: George Fang joined OPTi in 1995 and served as director of marketing for the Multimedia Business Unit. As vice president of the Asia Pacific core of the worldwide sales organization, George is responsible for the Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Mainland China and Australian markets. Prior to OPTi, he was vice president of marketing and sales for Visionetics International, and held marketing and sales positions at Oak Technology, Trident Microsystems, and TRW. Steve Wu, Executive Vice President of the Systems Logic Business Unit: Steve Wu joined OPTi in 1989, and has served in senior management positions in product development. From February 1995 through December 1996, he served as vice president of Mobile Business Unit. As senior vice president of the Systems Logic Division, he is responsible for product marketing and product development of Core Logic and Peripheral products. Prior to OPTi, he held engineering positions at Chips and Technologies, and LSI Logic.Patrick Ang, President of the Multimedia Business Unit: Patrick Ang joined OPTi in 1993 as vice president, when his company, MediaChips, was acquired by OPTi. Appointed president of the Multimedia Business Unit in 1997, Mr. Ang is responsible for product marketing and product development of Audio and Telephony products. Prior to OPTi, he was co-founder of MediaSonic and held positions at Tritech, Sierra Semiconductor and Telmos. Johnny Lie, Vice President of Operations: Johnny Lie joined OPTi in 1991 as manager of OPTi's test department, and in 1996 he was promoted to Director of Operations. In 1997, Mr. Lie was appointed Vice President of Operations where he is responsible for Test Engineering, Purchasing, Materials, and MIS. Mr. Lie came to OPTi from Chips & Technologies where he held test engineering management positions. |
